Love this! I had a similar experience at a Sagra in Villastrada (Umbria) a few weeks ago- Melon & Prosciutto and Brustico (Lake Trasimeno fish). We had folks come in early and took them on a whim (small group travel). Yes, there were lines (even though we showed up when it started) and yes, took a few minutes to figure out what to do, but it was such an amazing experience. The food= wonderful. So many options, big portions, and affordable. Great wine choices also. People were super nice, and I was grateful to have some Italian to use. We were likely the only tourists, and that’s what made it so cool! One of our guests said it was their favorite experience of the trip.

I hate (some) sagre. Not all of them.... but some are really a joke from a culinary, sanitary and social point of view. And they are mostly made up.

Others are great.

But... I still hate them because I can't park my car when there is one here.

And visitors are worse than cinghiali.

Yes... I hate them.

But I like cinghiali.
